Sell Your Luxury, Collectible & Vintage Watches

Gulfcoast Coin & Jewelry buys and considers a wide range of luxury, collectible, vintage and select mid-tier watches, including wrist watches, pocket watches and specialty timepieces.

From high-end Swiss watches and collectible vintage pieces to Omega, Longines, Hamilton, Rolex, Cartier, Breitling, Patek Philippe, TAG Heuer, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Elgin, Waltham and many others, bring us what you have and let our staff evaluate the piece.

We consider one watch or an entire collection. If a watch makes sense for Gulfcoast inventory, we can make a direct purchase offer. If your expectations are closer to the retail marketplace, certain watches may instead be appropriate for auction.

Don't Know Exactly What You Have?

That's fine. You do not need to know the reference number, year or current market value before bringing a watch to Gulfcoast.

We consider watches individually based on the manufacturer, model, condition, functionality, originality, precious-metal content and current collector or resale demand.

Original boxes, papers, warranty cards, service records and spare links are helpful when available, but they are not required for us to take a look.

Watches We Buy & Consider

Luxury, Collectible, Vintage & Select Mid-Tier Watches

Gulfcoast is not limited to one brand. We evaluate watches and timepieces across a broad range of manufacturers and price levels, with the strongest interest generally in pieces with established luxury, collector, precious-metal or resale markets.

High-End Luxury Watches

We consider high-end watches from brands such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, Breitling, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Cartier and other recognized luxury manufacturers.

Omega & Premium Watches

Omega, Longines, TAG Heuer, Hamilton and other desirable premium or mid-tier watches may also be appropriate depending on the model, condition and market.

Vintage Watches

Vintage watches from manufacturers such as Elgin, Waltham, Hamilton, Longines and other historic makers are considered individually.

Pocket Watches & Specialty Timepieces

Gulfcoast also considers pocket watches, collectible movements, precious-metal cases, Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos clocks and other unusual horological pieces.

Don't see your brand listed? Bring it in anyway. This is not a complete list. Gulfcoast considers watches and timepieces from many additional manufacturers.
Watch Evaluation

Bring Your Watch In. We'll Take a Look.

Whether the watch was purchased recently, inherited, found in an estate or has been sitting in a drawer for years, you are welcome to bring it into Gulfcoast for consideration.

We evaluate the physical watch and the current market. Some pieces may be appropriate for a direct Gulfcoast purchase, while others may have limited dealer resale demand or may make more sense through auction.

Gulfcoast considers all watches brought to us, although not every watch will have the same level of resale or collector demand.

What Should You Bring?

Bring the watch itself and anything associated with it that you still have.

Original boxes, papers, warranty cards, receipts, service records, spare bracelet links and accessories can all be useful when evaluating a watch.

If those items are missing, you can still bring the watch in.

Two Ways to Sell

Direct Purchase or Auction

Gulfcoast can discuss which selling method may make the most sense based on the watch, current demand and what you are trying to accomplish.

Option One

Sell Directly to Gulfcoast

If the watch is something Gulfcoast wants for inventory, we can make a direct purchase offer based on the watch and current market.

A dealer purchase price is different from an end-buyer retail asking price because resale costs, service requirements, market movement and dealer margin must be considered.

Option Two

Consign the Watch to Auction

If your expectations are closer to the retail marketplace than a direct dealer purchase allows, a qualifying watch may be considered for Gulfcoast's auction operation.

Auction can expose the watch to competing bidders rather than requiring Gulfcoast to purchase it outright for inventory. Final auction results depend on bidder demand and are not guaranteed.

What We Look At

What Can Affect a Watch's Value?

Two watches from the same manufacturer can have very different markets. Gulfcoast evaluates the complete piece before determining purchase interest or making an offer.

Brand & Model

Manufacturer, reference, model, configuration, production period and collector demand can all affect desirability.

Condition & Functionality

Mechanical operation, cosmetic condition and potential service needs are important considerations.

Originality

Original dials, movements, cases, bracelets and other components can be particularly important on collectible watches.

Precious-Metal Content

Gold, platinum and other precious-metal cases or bracelets can contribute significant intrinsic value in addition to watch value.

Box, Papers & History

Original packaging, warranty documentation, service history and provenance may improve desirability for certain watches.

Current Market

Wholesale, retail and auction demand changes over time and is considered when Gulfcoast evaluates a watch.

A Note About Cartier

Condition & Functionality Are Especially Important

Gulfcoast buys and considers Cartier watches, but Cartier pieces can require specialized servicing and replacement components.

Because parts availability and service requirements can substantially affect the economics of a watch, whether a Cartier watch is functioning properly can have an important effect on purchase interest and value.

Gulfcoast does not perform comprehensive Cartier servicing in-house. Watches requiring specialized work may need to be sent to an outside watchmaker or appropriate service provider.

Watch Services

Watch Services & Accessories

In addition to buying and selling watches, Gulfcoast provides several practical watch services and carries selected watch-related inventory.

$10–$30

Watch Battery Changes

Battery changes are available for many watches and generally range from $10 to $30 depending on the watch and the complexity of accessing and replacing the battery.

Professional Watch Service

Watches requiring more involved mechanical work may be sent to an appropriate outside watchmaker or service provider depending on the piece and work required.

Rolex Service Assistance

Gulfcoast can assist with sending Rolex watches out for appropriate professional servicing when necessary.

Watch Bands

We carry selected watch bands and may be able to help identify an appropriate option depending on the watch and available inventory.

Rolex Dials & Components

Gulfcoast may have selected Rolex dials and other components available. Inventory changes, so contact the store or stop in to see what is currently available.

Watch Engraving

Gulfcoast can assist with engraving appropriate watches and watch-related items for gifts, commemorations and personalization.

Pocket Watches

Gulfcoast evaluates collectible and precious-metal pocket watches from manufacturers including Hamilton, Elgin, Waltham, Longines and others.

Buying & Selling Watches

Looking to replace, sell or add a watch? Gulfcoast buys and sells timepieces across a wide range of manufacturers and market levels.

Personalization

Considering Watch Engraving?

Engraving can make a watch personal, but on certain collectible or high-value watches, originality can also play an important role in the resale market.

If you are considering engraving a valuable or collectible timepiece, speak with Gulfcoast first. Our staff can discuss the piece with you before you make a permanent alteration.

Collector Watch?

Before engraving or permanently altering a collectible watch, ask us whether the modification may affect future collector or resale interest.
